Anna Ford still presents bulletins for the BBC |
Former ITV news presenters Selina Scott and Gordon Honeycombe will be returning to the network's bulletins to help mark its 50th anniversary. The pair will join Martyn Lewis, Anna Ford and Julia Somerville in co-hosting the ITV Evening News for a night each between 19 and 23 September.
Scott, 52, hosted The Clothes Show for the BBC and became a chat show host after leaving News at Ten in 1982.
Honeycombe, 69, now lives in Australia and is an actor and playwright.
He joined ITN in 1965 and stayed until 1977, returning to screens for five years from 1984 to front bulletins for the now-defunct breakfast TV station TV-am.
'Favourite faces'
Somerville, 57, was a regular ITV news presenter until 2000, while Lewis, 60, moved to the BBC in 1986, and made news himself after calling for more "good news" in bulletins in 1993.
Anna Ford, 62, spent three years with ITN from 1978, before joining TV-am's launch team. She now presents the One O'Clock News for BBC One.
ITV News editor Deborah Turness said: "We are thrilled that five favourite faces from our past have agreed to climb back into the hot seat and help us celebrate the 50th birthday of ITV News.
"Some are still working, but others haven't been near a studio for some time."
