Mariah Carey has become only the fifth act to hold the top two positions in the US Hot 100 singles chart. The singer's We Belong Together notched a 10th consecutive week at number one on the Billboard chart while Shake It Off jumped two places to second place.
The feat puts Carey in a select group of acts to hold the top two with Nelly, OutKast, the Bee Gees and the Beatles.
We Belong Together, from her recent album The Emancipation of Mimi, has totalled 14 weeks at number one.
We Belong Together is Carey's 16th number one, giving her the third highest number of chart-toppers in the US behind the Beatles and Elvis Presley.
The Pussycat Dolls' Don't Cha featuring Busta Rhymes slipped one place to number three, while Missy Elliott's Lose Control featuring Ciara and Fat Man Scoop jumped two places to the fourth spot.
Bow Wow's Let Me Hold You stayed at number five, while the rapper's other single Like You featuring Ciara rose two places to seventh.
Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand's Do You Want To was the second highest new entry at number 83, behind Nickelback's Photograph at number 75.
