Desperate Housewives actress Marcia Cross - who plays perfectionist Bree Van De Camp in the US show - has announced her engagement. Cross, 43, accepted a proposal from her boyfriend, stockbroker Tom Mahoney, her publicist, Heidi Slan, said.
"The happy couple have not set a date for the wedding yet," Slan added. It will be the first marriage for both Cross and her 47-year-old fiance.
The actress's other TV credits include Melrose Place and Knots Landing.

Last month Cross was nominated for an Emmy in the best actress in a comedy category. Her co-stars Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman were also nominated.

Desperate Housewives, which has proved a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, received 15 Emmy nominations. The awards ceremony takes place in Los Angeles on 18 September.
The series finale of the comedy drama - about a group of women living in suburbia - was seen by more than four million UK viewers when it was aired on Channel 4 in June.
The first season of the show has been US network ABC's top-rated show, attracting 22.8 million viewers.
