Brian Harvey quit the show following a row with Street-Porter |
Singer Brian Harvey has quit as a contestant on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, walking out of the jungle camp on Friday. The former East 17 singer left after a blazing row with Janet Street-Porter.
Harvey, 30, entered the camp a day later than other contestants after hearing on his arrival in Australia that his grandmother had died.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes temporarily suspended all bets on the reality TV show following Brian's departure.
On Wednesday, Harvey was chosen to take the latest "bushtucker trial" which involved pies full of insects.
Street-Porter has been at the centre of many of rows in the camp |
Viewers voted for Harvey to undertake the trial after hearing him complain about the poor diet the contestants are enduring in the jungle.
He aborted the trial midway through, when he was forced to grab a star with his teeth from a pie full of green ants.
"I gave it my best but I had to get out mate. It was too much," he told presenters Ant and Dec, when asked if he was concerned about returning to the camp with only two meals.
Former All Saint Natalie Appleton suffered an equally ignominious bushtucker trial on Thursday, as she was plunged into glass tanks containing a variety of animals and putrid waste.
Like Harvey, Appleton only managed to retrieve two stars, before pulling out of the trial claiming she did not want to be sick on live television.
Emotions are running high in the camp, with rows breaking out between Appleton and model Sophie Anderton, as well as between Janet Street-Porter and Nancy Sorrell.
Sorrell's husband Vic Reeves joined the camp as a surprise contestant on Wednesday.
Currently, comic Joe Pasquale is the favourite to win the show with even odds, ahead of Reeves on 3/1.
Three Degrees star Sheila Ferguson is the favourite to be evicted first.
