'Remarkable' recovery for Almond
Marc Almond
Almond had emergency surgery and was treated in intensive care
Singer Marc Almond has moved to a private hospital after a "remarkable" recovery from a motorcycle accident.

The ex-Soft Cell frontman has left east London's Royal London hospital, a statement on his website said.

Almond needed emergency surgery after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car in London last month.

"Although he has some way to go to full recovery he is looking forward to getting back to work when he can," the statement added.

Fans inundated his website with messages and sent flowers, cards and gifts to the east London hospital after the 17 October accident.

"We never imagined that after only three weeks we'd be sitting in a room drinking tea and laughing and joking with him just like before (you'll be pleased to hear his sense of humour hasn't suffered one bit)," the message said.
