Jay-Z and R Kelly have been swapping insults

The rapper had cancelled the remaining dates after R Kelly left alleging he was hit with pepper spray at Saturday's concert in New York.

But Jay-Z has now announced the tour will go on, inviting artists including Mary J Blige and P Diddy to join him.

Jay-Z and R Kelly's album, Unfinished Business, went to the top of the US Billboard charts in its first week.

It was their second album together, and likely to be their last.

R Kelly is now suing Jay-Z for $75m (�50m), claiming "spite and jealousy" forced him off the Best of Both Worlds tour.

The R&B singer has alleged he was threatened during the tour and that during Saturday's gig he spotted two people with guns in the audience before he was attacked.

But Jay-Z's publicist denied any of the rapper's entourage was involved in the alleged pepper spray incident.

Jay-Z's label, Def Jam Records, blamed Kelly's "lack of professionalism and unpredictable behaviour" for the reason behind his departure.

Despite the fact that R Kelly was the headline act, Jay-Z has decided to bring in other musicians in order to complete the 40-city tour, renaming it Jay-Z and Friends.

R Kelly is due to appear in court in Illinois on Thursday for a hearing into 14 charges of child pornography.
