Skinner's A Grand Don't Come For Free is nominated for the Mercury Music Prize
Rapper Mike Skinner - aka The Streets - topped the UK singles chart on Sunday with his latest song, Dry Your Eyes.

The track, taken from his Mercury-nominated second album A Grand Don't Come For Free, knocked Shapeshifters' Lola off number one.

Skinner's success was not just in the singles chart - A Grand Don't Come For Free also topped the album chart.

And Skinner's first album - Original Pirate Material - returned into the top 40, climbing to number 36.

Former Velvet Underground vocalist Lou Reed charted in the top ten of the singles chart with a dance remix of his 1970s hit Satellite of Love. The song debuted at number ten.

The song had already proven to be a hit in Miami clubs.

Rock band The Cure missed out on a top 20 spot when their song The End of the World could only make it to number 25.

The former Bros star Matt Goss made it to number 31 with his new song Fly.

A Grand Don't Come For Free knocked the Scissor Sisters' eponymous album to number two.

Mercury hopefuls Keane rose to third place, while Swedish rock band The Hives debuted at number seven with their new album Tyrannosaurus Hives.
