Britney Spears scored a number one with Toxic as well |
Britney Spears returned to the top of the UK charts on Sunday night with her latest single Everytime. The chart victory came a week after the pop star had to cancel a US tour because of a knee injury.
Britney's single knocked previous chart-topper Mario Winans' I Don't Wanna Know into second place.
Come on England by 4-4-2, based on Dexy's Midnight Runners' Come On Eileen, is at number three as the country celebrates Euro 2004.
In the album charts Keane, who had scored a number one with their debut Hopes and Fears weeks ago, returned to the top after being deposed by dance act Faithless last week.
Their album also managed to stave off the new album by The Beastie Boys, To the 5 Boroughs.
The New York rap trio had not released a studio album since 1998's Hello Nasty.
Two greatest hits also scored highly in this week's chart. Phil Collins' Platinum Collection was at number four, while the latest greatest hits compilation by Seventies Irish rock band Thing Lizzy was at number three.
