 Oasis' first album is a favourite of fans and critics |
Oasis have beaten their heroes The Beatles to win a poll of the best British albums of all time. The Britpop band's 1994 debut was voted ahead of the Beatles' 1966 classic Revolver to top the list in Q magazine.
The Beatles' great rivals the Rolling Stones make the top 10 with their 1968 album Beggars Banquet at seven.
Other albums in the poll of 50 Q writers include The Clash's London Calling, OK Computer by Radiohead and David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust.

The Smiths' The Queen Is Dead makes number eight, while Led Zeppelin's third album from 1970 reaches nine.
Blue Lines by Massive Attack is the highest placed dance album at 10 in the list.
Others include Van Morrison's Astral Weeks, Parklife by Blur, Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd and the Queen album A Night At The Opera.
