Zeta 'stalker kept signed book'
Dawnette Knight
Ms Knight faces 25 counts
The woman accused of stalking actress Catherine Zeta Jones kept a book autographed by the actress and her husband Michael Douglas, a court heard.

Dawnette Knight, 33, was also found to have a letter written to Douglas, calling him "the sexiest man alive", the Los Angeles hearing was told.

Ms Knight has denied stalking and 24 counts of making criminal threats against the Welsh Oscar-winning actress

The items were found when police searched her Beverly Hills apartment.

The book which had been signed by the Hollywood couple was a copy of My Stroke Of Luck, written by Mr Douglas' father, the film legend Kirk Douglas.

Outside court, Ms Knight's fiance, Ronald Calvin, said Ms Knight meant Zeta Jones and Mr Douglas no harm.

"She's a fan. Movie stars have fans," he said.

'Threatening letters'

Ms Knight had only been ruled fit to stand trial on Wednesday, two months after a previous pre-trial hearing was adjourned when she took an overdose of barbiturates.

That was hours after Ms Zeta-Jones and Mr Douglas gave evidence against her, the former telling the court about threatening letters she had allegedly received from the defendant.

The continuing preliminary hearing will decide if Ms Knight will go before a jury at a full trial.

Unemployed Ms Knight, who is in custody, was arrested on 3 June at her home. If convicted, she could face up to 19 years in prison.

It is alleged she made the threats against Ms Zeta Jones over an 18-month period because she was obsessed with Mr Douglas.
