George Clooney
Clooney spoke at both events but made no political statements
Actor George Clooney has helped raise about $140,000 (76,380) for his father's election campaign.

The Ocean's Eleven star appeared at two events in Kentucky to raise funds for father Nick's bid to enter Congress.

About 150 people paid $250 (136) each to meet the actor at a restaurant while 100 people paid $1,000 (545) each to see him at a private home.

Nick Clooney is Democratic candidate for the Fourth District seat of retiring US representative Ken Lucas.

George Clooney spoke briefly at both events but made no political statements.

"It's great having my son come in to help," Nick Clooney said.

"It's family. When my son and my daughter show up and help me, it means a lot and it shows me this is more than just politics. We still matter to one another."
