Mr Johnson has filed for bankruptcy protection
A judge has ordered Hollywood actor Don Johnson to pay an unpaid shopping bill of nearly $5,500.

Pitkin County District Judge Erin Fernandez-Ely said Johnson must pay $5,470 (2,966) for the overdue balance at Clark's Market.

The judge also ordered Mr Johnson to pay $426.85 (231) in interest to the grocery store in Aspen, Colorado.

Mr Johnson, who did not file a response to the lawsuit, is best known for his role in the television show Miami Vice.

Los Angeles-based City National Bank filed papers against Mr Johnson in March asking a judge to auction his home to recoup $930,000 (504,583), according to court papers.

In May, the 17-acre ranch near Aspen was put on sale amid a bankruptcy filing.
