Ant and Dec have won many awards |
Ant and Dec have come top of a Radio Times poll for the nation's best loved TV stars. The duo host the ITV shows I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Pop Idol and Saturday Night Takeaway.
The pair finished ahead of runner-up Ricky Gervais, star of BBC Two's The Office, and Shane Richie who plays EastEnders pub landlord Alfie Moon.
A recent poll showed 70% of viewers did not know which of the duo, both aged 28, was Ant or Dec.
In third place was Peter Kay who stars in Phoenix Nights, the Channel 4 comedy set in a nightclub, and was more recently seen in Coronation Street when he took pub landlady Shelley Urwin out on a date.
Also in the top ten were The Osbournes and Jonathan Ross, who hosts his own film, chat show and BBC Radio 2 programme.
Ozzy Osbourne, lead singer with heavy metal band Black Sabbath, became a household name when he and his family starred in the MTV reality TV show which made his children, Kelly and Jack, and his wife Sharon as famous as the rock legend himself.
Ant McPartlin and and Declan Donnelly first found fame in the BBC programme Byker Grove, set on Tyneside.
The pair now live two doors from each other in West London. Whenever they appear on TV McPartlin is always on the left, with Donnelly to the right.
McPartlin told the Radio Times: "It helps viewers recognise us. It's weird to realise that 70% don't know which is which. Maybe no one cares. Fair enough."
