The Two Towers is nominated for Best Film |
The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers and Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets are set to go head to head at this year's Children's Bafta awards. Both are nominated in two categories, best feature film and the Lego/Bafta Kids best film, voted for by children.
Other nominees in the awards, which honour achievements in children's TV and film, include BBC shows Blue Peter, Bob The Builder and Fimbles.
The Children's Bafta Awards were first held in 1996.
Previous winners have included ITV1 show SM:TV Live, which has taken the prize for Best Entertainment Show for the past three years. This year, however, it is not nominated.
Contribution
The feature film category has been won in recent years by Shrek and Monsters Inc, which last year beat Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings to the award.
An award for outstanding contribution to children's film and television is also given out every year, with the recipient to be announced at the ceremony.
Last year the award went to producer/director Ronald Smedley. Long-running TV show Grange Hill and Teletubbies creator Anne Wood are also former winners.
The awards will take place on Sunday 30 November at the London Hilton.
