Zeta Jones has an exclusive deal with another cosmetics firm

The Oscar-winning star claims that she has never purchased products from the company and they had no right to use her name in promotions.

Zeta Jones, who has an exclusive deal to promote Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, is seeking $15m (�9m).

The actress is currently promoting her film Intolerable Cruelty.

Zeta Jones alleges Caudalie, which produces wine-based beauty products, wrongly stated on its website that she had been seen buying its creams and lotions.

But she said she has never used its products or its spa services, and has never given permission for the company to use her name.

'Online exploitation'

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, also names property company Turnberry Place, which owns condominiums in Las Vegas that house Caudalie spas, for using Zeta Jones' name in its promotional material.

The Neiman-Marcus Group, which sells the Caudalie range, is also accused of spreading the claims the star used the beauty products.

The Chicago actress says Neiman-Marcus colluded in the "online exploitation" by posting an interview with Caudalie founder Mathilde Thomas, who said Zeta Jones was among the company's celebrity clients.
