Double Brit winners Coldplay are heading the Q Awards nominations, competing in four categories including Best Act in the World. Coldplay are also up for best single, best video and best live performers. Blur, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers are also nominated.
The best album category is between rapper 50 Cent, Radiohead, Blur, Feeder and The White Stripes.
The winners, chosen by Q readers, will be announced in London on 2 October.
Radiohead, Blur, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters are contesting the best act in the world category against Coldplay.
Muse nominations
In the best single category Coldplay's Clocks has been nominated, while The Scientist sees them up for best video.
Their album A Rush of Blood to the Head has not been nominated in the best album category because it won the award last year.

British band Muse have three nominations, two of them - best single and best video - for the song Time is Running Out. They are also in the running for the innovation award.
Other acts contesting this award are Richard X, Super Furry Animals, Goldfrapp and David Gray.
"The Q Awards are special because they're voted for by the people who matter most - real music fans. And this year they've recognised the excitement, breadth, history and inherent glamour of Q's world," Q editor Paul Rees said.
Last year winners included Moby, The Hives, Pink, Sugababes and Radiohead, who were voted best act in the world.
