Thousands of music fans have enjoyed one of the last major rock music events of 2003 at this weekend's V Festival. Headliners the Red Hot Chili Peppers brought the two days of music to a finale at Hylands Park, in Chelmsford while Coldplay wrapped up the weekend at Weston Park in Staffordshire.
Up to 250,000 people are thought to have headed to the festival over the weekend.
Liam Gallagher watched wife Nicole Appleton in Hylands Park on Sunday, while actress Gwyneth Paltrow was at the Essex site to watch Coldplay - led by boyfriend Chris Martin - top the bill on Saturday.
The festival also featured artists such as David Gray, PJ Harvey, Underworld, The Coral, Foo Fighters, Ash, Feeder and Turin Brakes.
On Sunday, Essex police said there had been 11 arrests at the Hylands Park site, but it had otherwise gone smoothly.
They said eight people, all in their 20s and 30s from Essex and London, were arrested on suspicion of possession drugs with intent to supply them.

And a London man, 27, was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage. Police also seized more than 50 tablets, thought to be Ecstasy, and a quantity of cannabis.
More than 270 people were searched and 52 people arrested at the Weston Park site.
Staffordshire Police said the majority of incidents were drug-related offences.
The two shows were both sell outs, and organisers had warned people without tickets to stay away.
Police in Staffordshire secured an exclusion order allowing them to ban from future shows anyone caught committing a violent offence.
St John's Ambulance reported 350 injuries at the Essex site, with some people needing treatment at nearby Chelmsford General Hospital. Live broadcasts
Virgin, which was behind the event, broadcast acts live from the main stage on its AM radio network.
The festival was also shown live on digital TV on ITV2, with highlights on ITV1.
Acts in five different arenas included Morcheeba, The Hives, Tim Burgess, Super Furry Animals and Kelly Osbourne.
Many concert-goers chose to camp out over the weekend in specially designated camp sites.
