Rosetti's Fiammetta is a highlight of the exhibition

It includes works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Sir Edward Burne-Jones and William Holman Hunt.

Other artists represented are Sir Samuel Fildes, Marcus Stone and John Edward Brett.

Lord Lloyd Webber is also displaying his personal collection of sculptures, furniture and porcelain.

He has long been a collector of Pre-Raphaelite works.

The multi-millionaire theatre producer will be displaying works by other master painters including Canaletto, Picasso and Stanley Spencer.

In all he is lending 200 pieces to the Royal Academy from a collection often described as one of the finest in private hands.

Earlier this week Lloyd Webber announced he wanted to leave his multi-million pound collection to the nation when he dies.

He plans to open a museum on his estate in Berkshire to let the public see his paintings - plus theatrical sets and costumes.

He told the Royal Academy's magazine that people would like to see them "in the context of where I lived".

The exhibition is at the Academy's headquarters in Piccadilly, London, until 16 December.
