Fans can tune in to The Most Gigantic Lying Mouth of All Time |
Rock group Radiohead have launched their own internet TV channel to coincide with the release of their sixth album, Hail To the Thief. Radiohead Television will show music videos, live concert webcasts and webcasts from their recording studios.
Hail To the Thief, which was released in the UK on Monday, is expected to go straight to the top of the album chart.
It has received a mixed reaction from critics, who have described it as enigmatic and experimental, but slightly more accessible than their recent output.
The band are playing 12 European festivals, including Glastonbury |
Programming on the TV channel starts on the hour, with visitors who do not get to the site on time faced with a test card and 1970s-style intermission music. It promises programmes with names like The Most Gigantic Lying Mouth of All Time, Episode 1.
The band have also relaunched their website to include "remaindered stock that we have discovered in dusty sketchbooks and unerased files on lonely computers".
It features digital animations on the themes of mass media culture and 24-hour cities.
The first single from Radiohead's new album, There There, went to number four in the UK chart earlier in June.
They have just finished a string of low-key UK shows and are gearing up to play 12 European festivals - including Glastonbury - during the summer.
