Crowe and Spencer at last year's Oscars |
Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is to marry his long-time girlfriend next month, his publicist has said. Wendy Day said Crowe would marry singer Danielle Spencer on 7 April - the actor's 39th birthday.
The ceremony is due to be held in the family chapel on his family's property at Nana Glen, near Coffs Harbour in New South Wales.
"It's not a Hollywood, star-studded affair, it's a family and friends affair for about 80 guests," she said.
The chapel was used for his brother Terry's wedding last year, and has reportedly had an extension added to it.
Crowe won the best actor Oscar in 2001 for his role in Roman epic Gladiator, while he was nominated for the same prize last year for A Beautiful Mind.
Spencer agreed to marry Crowe - who carried the ring around for a month before building up the courage to propose - as the couple shared a meal at their favourite Sydney restaurant last year.
But the Oscar-winning actor first made sure he had her father's approval, calling him two days before.
