In the 1970s, the Bee Gees moved to the US and hit the pinnacle of their career as disco swept the world

The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack sold 30m copies worldwide

Maurice wrote many of the band's hit songs, and his high vocals helped their unique harmonies

The 1980s saw the brothers move into writing and producing, before 1987 come-back hit You Win Again

In the 1990s, the Gibbs received numerous awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

By this point they had reached "legend" status and their songs were being covered by numerous young bands

World-wide record sales for the band exceeded 110 million, and they were awarded CBEs in 2002
