Jude Law and Sadie Frost have said they are the "the luckiest parents alive" after their two-year-old daughter Iris was unharmed after swallowing part of an ecstasy tablet.

Their child was rushed to hospital after she is thought to have picked the tablet off the floor at a children's party in London private members' club Soho House.

Police spokesman

Frost - who recently gave birth to the couple's third child - was able to retrieve half of the tablet before Iris could swallow it all.

A spokeswoman said she was "relieved" to say Iris had been given "the all clear" after Saturday's incident.

Iris's stomach had not been pumped nor was she was given a precautionary brain scan, as had been initially reported.

"She is at home with Sadie and her brother Rudy," she said.

Road to Perdition star Jude, 29, was away looking after their eldest son Rafferty, she added.

The matter was in the hands of the police, she said.

"Jude and Sadie just feel like the luckiest parents alive, as no serious harm came to their daughter."

Hospital stay

A Scotland Yard spokesman said they were called by a London Hospital just after 1600 BST on Saturday.

"The child had been attending a children's party on Saturday where she was believed to have picked up a tablet that had been left on the floor of the premises on Old Compton Street.

"The premises had been used as a bar and nightclub on the Friday.

He confirmed the mother managed to retrieve half of the ecstasy tablet before it could be ingested.

The child was kept in hospital overnight for observation.

"The tablet has been confirmed as ecstasy," he said.

Zero tolerance

A spokesman for the Soho House Club, where the incident happened, said they had requested a meeting with the Metropolitan Police.

"It is made clear to all our members in the club's rules and regulations that drugs will not be tolerated on the premises," he said.

A police source said there was no suggestion the parents were guilty of neglect, adding: "There are no plans to take action against the parents of the victim.

"This is being considered as an unforeseen accident outside the parents' control."

The licensing branch of the Metropolitan Police has been informed.

Westminster City Council licensing officers have asked for a meeting with club bosses this week.

The venue's entertainment licence is up for renewal within the next month.

Frost gave birth to son, Rudy, last month. Rafferty is five, and Frost has an 11-year-old son, Finley, from a previous marriage.
