India rice shortage may force imports

For the first time in 20 years India may have to start importing rice.

Droughts and floods have affected the crop and the government has warned it will turn to the international market to make up for any shortfall.

The average Indian family can consume 20kgs of rice a month. Food prices in India have already been rising - so what does the future hold for shoppers?
