Myners urges shareholder action over bonuses

City Minister Lord Myners has called on major shareholders to stop banks from paying excessive bonuses, after Royal Bank of Scotland directors threatened to resign over the issue.

He said thousands of bankers in the UK will be paid more than £1m if action is not taken, and added it was unfair to the taxpayers who had bailed them out.
