Lowe resigned as Saints chairman in June 2006 |
A proposed takeover of Southampton FC has been thrown into doubt after three major shareholders said they would not back the deal as it stands. Sisu Capital has made an offer for a majority stake in Saints' parent company Southampton Leisure Holdings.
But ex-chairmen Rupert Lowe, Michael Wilde and Leon Crouch are seeking answers to 10 questions, seen by BBC Radio Solent, for talks to progress.
The trio said: "We wouldn't support the proposals in their current form."
Southampton had said Sisu's investment would be a "long-term commitment" and would boost prospects for promotion.
If Sisu succeeds in taking a majority stake in the company, it would be the first time a British football club has been controlled by a hedge fund.
