Pepsi is one of the fizzy drinks Britvic produces in the UK |
Drinks firm Britvic has said that a more healthy lifestyle in the UK is hitting sales of its fizzy brands. A cold spell also accounted for sales of carbonated drinks such as Tango and Pepsi falling 7.3% in the UK during the 24 weeks to 19 March.
It comes a month after Britvic shares fell 20% on a warning consumers were no longer buying as many fizzy drinks.
But Britvic said that the speed at which sales of full-sugar drinks were falling may be stabilising.
It said trading was looking better in the still drinks sector, where sales were 1.3% above last year's level.
Britvic is the second-largest fizzy drinks firm in the UK behind Coca-Cola, with a contract to make Pepsi, Robinsons and Tango.
