Martha Stewart built an empire on recipes and decorating tips
Businesswoman Martha Stewart has been found guilty of lying to the police who were investigating her share dealings and is likely to go to jail on Friday.

The US lifestyle trendsetter and TV presenter has a multi-billion dollar business empire based on her name.

Famous for her recipes and decorating tips as well as kitchen and garden goods, she is also, however, a convicted criminal.

Ms Stewart is expected to be sentenced to between one and two years in jail.

Not relaxing

The American tabloid newspapers are in a frenzy speculating how she will get on.

One notes that gardening in the federal women's prison, near her gracious Connecticut home, usually means mowing the lawn for twelve cents an hour.

That is far below the $3.5m she made last year.

The glossy cover of August's edition of the Martha Stewart Living magazine has the headline "relax and enjoy".

It is not apt to the founder's current situation.
