Woman rescued from quake rubble

Indonesian television has shown pictures of a woman being rescued alive from rubble after a 7.6 earthquake hit off the coast of Pandang on Wednesday.

The powerful earthquake was followed by a second 6.8 magnitude quake.

Hundreds of buildings, including hospitals, collapsed in Padang, the capital of West Sumatra province.

Rescuers have been struggling in heavy rain to try to find survivors from the first quake who are buried under rubble in Padang.
