Indonesian earthquake aftershock

A strong earthquake has hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra, leaving at least 75 dead and thousands reportedly trapped under rubble.

The BBC's Karishma Vaswani said that the epicentre was about 50km (30 miles) off the coast, near the city of Padang.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has lifted an alert it put out.
