Aid agency Medecins Sans Frontieres has told 5live that a cargo plane carrying 12 tons of medical equipment to Haiti has been turned away three times from Port-au-Prince airport despite repeated assurances that it can land there.
In the past five days the charity says it has had five planes diverted from Haiti to the Dominican Republic.
Gregg Elder, who works at emergency desk at Medecins Sans Frontieres in New York, says "airports in the entire region are starting to back up".
Rhod Sharp from Up All Night asked him why he thought the plane had problems getting access into Haiti.
