US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said that the US is offering full assistance to Haiti in the aftermath of a powerful earthquake.
The quake struck about 15km (10 miles) south-west of the capital, Port-au-Prince.
Buildings, including a hospital, are reported to have collapsed.
