Sarkozy: 'Leaders must offer hope'

France's President Nicolas Sarkozy has called world leaders to offer solutions to the economic and environmental problems the world faces.

Addressing the UN General Assembly, Mr Sarkozy said that people affected by the global recession are the responsibility of governments and international institutions.
