US President Barack Obama has confirmed that he intends to pass regulatory reform through Congress, during a speech on Wall Street.
Speaking one year after the Lehman Brothers investment bank collapsed, Mr Obama warned bankers that "history cannot repeat itself".
He called on the financial industry to join in a "constructive effort" to meet future challenges.
