New Orleans has largely avoided serious flooding from Hurricane Gustav, thanks to an improved levee system.
However parts of the city were not so lucky, with flood waters immersing many streets and neighbourhoods.
New Orleans Resident Danny Whitehead stayed behind whilst his family fled the area. He spoke of the damage caused by Hurricane Gustav.
