| | Sunday, 24 November, 2002, 15:14 GMT In pictures: Nigeria's Miss World riots Tensions remain high in the northern Nigerian city of Kaduna following four days of violent protests over the Miss World beauty pageant - which the country had been due to host.  More than 200 people died in the sectarian clashes  Police fired teargas and guns to disperse violent crowds  Members of Nigeria's military and police forces were accused of gunning people down without provocation  One man said police came to collect his sons on Friday morning. By evening they were dead.  Thousands fled for their lives as bands of Muslims and Christians attacked each other with rocks and rifles.  The riots were sparked by Muslim anger over a newspaper story about the beauty pageant.  Miss World contestants left their hotel late Saturday night and boarded a bus to the airport  The contestants arrived in London, where the competition will now be held, on Sunday morning | |
