Wow - it's approaching 24 hours since the last entry and I have had 0 hours sleep. The body clock has gone out the window! After Ace & Vis' 3 hour show last night, I had to check a huge pile of tunes in time for this morning's Deviation session.

I've picked up so many things, wanted to choose the choice cuts that would represent Tokyo for the Deviation regulars. Ended up checking tunes till 3 am - suddenly getting a burst of energy around 1 in the morning, as per usual, because back home I am definitely a night person. Tried my best to get off to sleep but didn't manage it before 6ish. When I awoke, I got a coffee and welcomed our guests to the 1Xtra studio.

The morning sun was up so I drew the curtains to make sure we set the right vibe and were in tune with you late night heads back in the UK. Kicked the show off at 8am (Midnight in UK)... hope you enjoyed it if you got to check it. (If not it's online!)

Was great to have Shuya Okino (K.J.M/Especial) and The Jazzy Sport guys in on a show at that time in the morning. I think they had stayed up all night too... so we were all in sync. DJ Mitsu delivered a tasty mix and all of his new productions sounded fresh too. Shuya Okino was great and played a heavy new track from the band Sleep Walker.

Toshio had dropped off a CD of exclusive new cuts yesterday, so I spun a couple of bits from that too. It was 10am before we knew it and the show was over.

No rest for the wicked. The Lunchtime Show sent me out on a special mission. Seani B was to go out and buy a Benji B style tune, Benji B was to go out and buy a Dancehall tune, and so while you were getting some sleep in the UK, we set to work. I take any challenge seriously, but when you have to draw a tune on Seani B you know you have to come correct. So after finding my way to the best specialist Dancehall shop in Tokyo in the blaring heat of the day, on no sleep, I opted for two pieces - one old, one new.

Found a Lenny Hibberts tune on Coxsone that I hadn't picked up on a 7" before, instrumental - will try and fit that in on Deviation sometime soon. So that was for the warm up, but for the showpiece I found a tune that was more upfront than any other - A new piece from Elephant Man's Sesame Street. Hilarious tune and brand brand new.

Just did the feature live on Ace & Vis' second show half an hour ago. Apparently I passed the test with flying colours, because not only will that tune be massive, I hear it's so upfront not even the legendary Robbo Ranx has a copy yet! Easy Robbo!

So now it's 10pm and I have to DJ tonight in a few hours at The Room with Shuya. Been looking forward to it all week and I hear it goes on 'til at least 5am, so I'm gonna try and get a couple of hours sleep in now. Later!
