The Tokyo entries

Spent the entire afternoon in the various vinyl spots checking bits and pieces both new and old. I'm used to buying records in Soho and around London and the UK, here in Shibuya they're up to speed on everything, if not way ahead! It was a shock to see 'As played by Benji B' written under some of the tunes!

I got Masaya (AKA Breakthrough), the man in the know, to take me to the hidden sneaker boutiques that give Tokyo a reputation as a Mecca for rare kicks. Whoa, the original boxed Jordan 4s are £300 upwards! Crazy. Saw a few nice things though. I'm gonna have to think about it and choose wisely!

I went to the high tech Vestax Shop to try out the new Technics CD Decks. I wanted to see how they compare to the Pioneer CDJ machines. When I got there I bumped straight into Just Blaze and his crew who had obviously had the same idea. He gave the whole shop a lesson! Was a good moment. He's over here spinning at Club Harlem on Friday which is the same night I'm playing at The Room, so unfortunately not gonna be able to make it.

On the way home a typhoon came in so I had to battle my way back to the hotel. Nearly got blown off the bridge! Bumped into Ace and Vis on the way back who both had a jam packed day... check out their sumo stuff which will be on this mini-site.

Benji B out.
