The advantage of a computer based set-up is that you can build your system up over time, adding or upgrading individual parts as you need them.

It might seem frustrating at first but it's probably better to start with a basic system and expand once you learn what's missing.

Check out as many websites, books and magazines as you can so you know what's gwaaning. We've listed some resources to help you get started at the end of this section.

It's a huge subject, so we'll only cover the basics here.
