Marcus Carter, 41, a sales director from St. John�s Wood, north London, said: "Security is not a major concern of mine. You could die anywhere, anyhow.

"I have friends who refuse to get the Tube post-7 July, but you could be in a car and get hit by a truck.

"But this scanner is a good way to make people feel safer."
