Peter Joyce, 75, and wife Pauline, 76, are non-smokers from Inverness-shire.

Peter said: "I don't think there will be problems enforcing it.

"Peer pressure will sort that out the same way it has done with drink-driving."

Pauline said: "I think the benefits of the ban will be obvious.

"I'm sure it will help smokers to give up."
