Campaigners say that another 35 countries need debt relief to meet the UN's poverty targets. They say full cancellation for 62 countries would cost $45.7bn a year. UK Chancellor Gordon Brown says a possible deal at this year's G8 could release $40bn in total. In 2002, low-income countries owed a total of $523bn.
