Crime overview
Overall crime levels apparently fell in the UK last year, but that has not stopped attention focusing on violent crime, which according to police records rose 7%.

By comparison in the British Crime Survey (BCS), published at the same time and based on people's experiences of crime, violent offences fell by 11%.
