Satellite orbits

Satellite orbits vary on their job. Big satellites are for communications and TV.

Their 36,000km GEO (Geostationary Orbit) around the Equator matches Earth's rotation so they have "fixed" locations to send steady signals.

Low Earth satellites (LEO) sometimes take polar orbits for better views of Earth. LEOs are also used for navigation and science.
