An opinion poll commissioned by the BBC and other global media groups has provided fresh insight into life in Iraq on the eve of its first full elections since the fall of Saddam.

The poll of 1,771 people across Iraq suggests broad satisfaction, but with notable regional variations.

A remarkable 61% are happy with how the government is performing.
