![]() | Interest rates The Bank of England began raising interest rates in late 2003 to dampen the buoyant housing market. The increases seem to have had their desired effect and rates have been pegged for the past seven months. Opinion is divided on whether they have peaked but with inflation low, many fear an over-reaction by the Bank could limit the economic recovery. |
