China: 50 years of communism / Revolution GlossaryNews image
Reginald Hunt was working in China as a teacher of English in the 1960s. He was one of the few foreign nationals to be in the People's Republic during the Cultural Revolution.

As China marks 50 years of communist rule, BBC News Online publishes here a selection from his unique collection of photographs - taken in 1965-66, 1971 and 1974-76 - to provide a glimpse into life in China during that tumultuous period.
