Pontypridd boys Lostprophets have had hits in both the UK and US

The Pontypridd band were joined by a host of artists in the Full Ponty in the town's Ynysangharad Park.

Also included in the line-up of 20 acts were Cowbridge's The Automatic and American skate punk band Reel Big Fish.

Various shows have been held around the town as part of the Full Ponty Fringe Festival in the lead-up to the event.

Around 10,000 fans attended last year's two-day festival.

Radio One DJs Bethan Elfyn and Huw Stephens and comedienne Lucy Porter were among the attractions this year.

Before the main event on Saturday police issued a warning to the crowd to leave plenty of time for their journey and plan for how they will get home.

Chief Inspector Marc Lewis said: "This is the second year The Full Ponty has come to the park and is a major event for Pontypridd and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

"Many fans will be returning from last year and will know the procedures but we want everyone to fully enjoy the day and not have the experience ruined because they have not thought about the practicalities of getting to and from the show safely."

Some roads in the town were closed in the town until midnight on Saturday, and park and ride facilities were provided.
