Rose Gentle (centre) stood as an anti-war candidate |
Anti-war candidate Rose Gentle, who stood against Armed Forces Minister Adam Ingram, vowed her campaign would not end despite being heavily defeated. Mrs Gentle, whose son Gordon, 19, was killed by a roadside bomb in Basra last June, stood in the East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow seat.
However, she gained only 1,513 votes as Mr Ingram won comfortably with 23,264, which was 48.7% of the votes cast.
She said: "This is not the end, this is just the beginning."
