Darling's stark message to bankers

The Treasury is to order an independent investigation into how banks are managed, Chancellor Alistair Darling has said.

It comes as many banks are preparing to announce bonuses paid to leading executives.

Speaking to the BBC's Andrew Marr, Mr Darling said that no one that has been associated with banks that have made large losses should be allowed to "walk away with big cash bonuses".
