BBC News has been hearing from a panel of floating voters in Stafford, gathered to watch Gordon Brown's keynote speech at this year's Labour Party conference.
The panel members - selected by polling company Ipsos MORI - registered their approval or disapproval for what the prime minister was saying using special keypads.
Stafford is currently held by Labour MP David Kidney, who beat David Cameron to take the seat in the 1997 election. It had previously been held by the Conservatives since 1983. In the last election, Labour retained the seat with a majority of 2,121.
